44/52 - Bela (Bruxa) Adormecida / Sleeping (Witch) Beauty

Text in English below...

E comecei a montar o estúdio... Caiu-me tudo ao chão... A minha modelo, a minha DIVA, tinha adormecido...

Deixem-me contar-vos uma coisa...

This week was Halloween and today's photo is here to prove that... But more than a photo of my daughter disguised has a Witch, this week's post we have a story to go with it... Let me tell it to you...
Our day started like most of the other days, however, by the time we goto to dress things got a little weird has my daughter was getting ready to go to school in a Witch costume (not the most creative choice of wardrobe, but hey...)... Has you might have guessed it, she LOVED it... And she played all day long...

When we got back home (in case you're wondering this is wher our story begins), I thought on taking a few pictures of her in my studio to keep a more "updressed" memory of the day. So I started to assemble my studio... Backgrounds, Strobes, Light Modifiers, Light Tests, the whole fireworks... By the time I had my light metered and I was ready to start, I looked back and... My jaw dropped... My model, my DIVA had fallen asleep... If it were a regular person, I'd have no problem waking it up, but my daughter?!?!?!? Not my daughter... If she's asleep, she's the only one that gets to decide whether she should wake up or not... Not even an earthquake has the power to try and decide if she sould wake up or not...

I still trid my luck... I talked gently, I shouted, I petted her, I shook her, I sat her up and she laid down, until I put her to her feet and... Let go of her... PAUSE... Our body's amazing... As soon as she felt that she could fall flat on the ground, an adrenaline rush must have kicked in that woke her up... That was my chance... I ran to the white background and asked her to stand, her head started to sag and she sat on the floor so I said to her "Okay, stay sit but at least look at the camera!!!"

Let me tell you something... There's photographers out there that'll tell you that they had Photoshoots in five minutes with great stars... My word to them is... PUSSIES!!! I had LITERALLY 10 seconds to take TWO shots (it was the necessary time to get all my flashes recicled)... As I was waiting for them to recicle again in order to take the third shot, my model, my little witch, laid down on the white seemless and FELL ASLEEP again...

The two shots I took of her are in this post, one at the start and another at the bottom... The last one clearly shows how sleepy my daughter was...

Moral: Living a witch's life is not easy... Nor is it a photographer's life...
